幼児が言葉を習得するように、大人が自然に英語を身に付けるのは不可能なのでしょうか？
まず、発音に関しては母語の癖が残るため、大人が自然に英語の発音になるのは不可能です。
ただ英語力に関していうと、本当に幼児と同じ環境で同じだけの量を大人がやれば、たとえば３年で極めて高度な英語力を身に付けることは可能だと思います。
しかし現実的には不可能です。なぜならば幼児は生後３年ほどは、自分の起きている時間のほぼすべてを言葉の習得に費やしますが、大人はこれだけの環境と時間と根気を手に入れるのがほとんど無理だからです。
幼児は常にネイティブ スピーカーが自分のそばにいて自分に語り掛けてくれて、何か話そうとしたら一所懸命に聞いてくれて、間違いがあったら指摘をしてくれて、そして何よりも何千回もの同じことの繰り返しを飽きもせずに繰り返します。
したがってネイティブの子供のように英語を学ぶという方法論を聞いたときは、果たして自分がネイティブの子供と同じだけの量を英語習得に捧げる根気があるのかどうかを、なによりも自分の胸に聞いてください。
